On January 25, 2014, Nanma Charitable Foundation visited Durgadi Fort in Kalyan West, Maharashtra, where the team spent time with 75 children who earned their living by collecting rags from a nearby dump yard.
During the visit, the members distributed food packets among the children, who welcomed the gesture with immense joy and relished the food to their heart's content. Some of the children shared that they had gone several days without a proper meal, making this simple act of kindness all the more meaningful. The children's heartfelt gratitude and the smiles that lit up their faces left a lasting impression on everyone present. The visit served as a poignant reminder that access to nutritious food and the simple comforts of childhood cannot be taken for granted by everyone.
For Nanma Charitable Foundation, the experience was about more than distributing food, it was about bringing comfort, sharing happiness, and reminding these children that they were not forgotten. The expressions of contentment and gratitude on their faces became cherished memories that stayed with the team long after the visit.
