On June 16, 2013, Nanma Charitable Foundation visited Karunalaya Bal Bhavan at Pishavli, Kalyan, Maharashtra. During the visit, we distributed free study materials to 30 orphaned and underprivileged girls, aged between six and twelve years and spent a memorable evening in their company.
All the girls attended a local Marathi-medium school and some came from families where their parents were terminally ill. Despite the challenges and uncertainties in their lives, the children welcomed us with warmth and enthusiasm, giving us an opportunity to connect with them and learn about their experiences. Belonging to different religious backgrounds, the children came together to sing songs of love and share their little joys with us. Their cheerful voices and innocent smiles beautifully reflected the spirit of unity, friendship, and togetherness that transcends differences.
The evening was a heartwarming reminder that kindness has the power to bring people closer, regardless of their circumstances or backgrounds. What we hoped would be a simple act of support turned into a meaningful exchange of happiness, leaving us with cherished memories of the children's warmth and innocence.
